Inagural Post

For a long time now, I have been struggling with the commercial side of blogging. I have been accepting review copies of books, games, towels- you name it- and then wimping out. I started my blog to keep an on-line journal for my family. Not to post reviews. In this world of blogging, however, there are also many great opportunities to meet and get to know lots of great people. Many who did not know you before you began blogging. Many of these people come to blogs by way of reviews and give aways.

I can't fight the trend any longer so I came up with a pretty simple solution- two blogs. One for my life and one for my reviews. So.... with no further ado... Welcome to Love Bug Reviews.

My first post will be a summary of all the great stuff I have received so far. More detailed reviews and give aways to come...

The Beach House by Jane Green: A compelling read with a fast moving plot about the life of an eccentric Nantucket woman.

Note to Self by Samara O'Shea: O'Shea, a journal writer herself, both tells and shows- with excerpts of her own journal- how powerful the experience of journaling can be.

The One Hundred: A Guide to the Pieces Every Stylish Woman Must Own by Nina Gracia: I hardly ever read these fashion books and I must admit, I was enthralled with this one. The book is visually appealing and the advice seems good.

Crayola No Drip Paint Brush Pens and Crayola True to Life Markers: The paint pens are great- really and truly no drip. While the real thing is always fun, it's great to have something to pull out when you really don't want all the mess. And the markers are blends of three colors on one marker- they really do make for a pretty and true to life picture.

Noodleboro Fun Park Sharing Game: Thanks to the great people at Mom Central, the girls and I were able to play this super fun game. It's focus on sharing and helping others was my favorite part but the girls loved all the amusement park rides and games that they could

Slendertone EnerVive Muscle Conditioner: This product is "the only consumer product that easily and safely soothes and rejuvenates tired muscles using clinically proven Electronic Muscle Stimulation technology."

A Karito Kids Doll: We received the Piper doll and Caroline is in love. A doll that resembles an American Girl doll but a company with a philanthropic mission. Children are able to select a cause to donate a portion of the purchase price to while learning about different causes around the world.

4RealFoods: Pizza and quesadillas without the preservatives. Can't argue with that!

Beth Feldman of BeyondPR organized a fantastic Mom's Night In to introduce bloggers to the last three items mentioned.

Well, that's it for not- I think! More to come...
